Climatic signals in tree ring of Picea schrenkiana along an altitudinal gradient in the central Tianshan Mountains, northwestern China 总被引:2,自引:0,他引:2
Tree-ring samples of Picea schrenkiana (Fisch. et Mey) were studied along an altitudinal gradient in the central Tianshan Mountains, and ring-width chronologies
were developed for three sites at different altitudes: low-forest border (1600–1700 m a.s.l.), interior forest (2100–2200 m
a.s.l.), and upper treeline (2600–2700 m a.s.l.). Annual ring-width variations were similar among the three sites but variability
was greatest at the low-forest border site. The statistical characters of the chronologies showed that mean sensitivity (MS)
and standard deviation (SD) decreased with increasing elevation. In other words, the response of tree growth to environmental
changes decreased with increasing altitude. To understand the differing response of trees at different elevations to the environmental
changes, response function analysis was used to study the relationships between tree-ring widths and mean monthly temperature
and total monthly precipitation from 1961 to 2000. The results showed that precipitation was the most important factor limiting
tree radial growth in the arid central Tianshan Mountains, precipitation in August of the prior growth year played an important
role on tree's radial growth across the entire altitudinal gradient even at the cold, high-elevation treeline site. It is
expected that with increasing altitude air temperature decreased and precipitation increased, the importance of precipitation
on tree growth decreased, and the response of tree growth to environmental changes decreased, too. This conclusion may be
helpful to understand and research the relationship between climatic change and tree growth in arid and semiarid area. 相似文献

Modeling Response of N Addition on C and N Allocation in Scandinavian Norway Spruce Stands 总被引:2,自引:0,他引:2
Because nitrogen is considered to be the major growth-limiting element in boreal forests, the increasing nitrogen availability from deposition should lead to increasing growth. We have tested this assumption by simulating, with a simple model, carbon and nitrogen development in seven long-term fertilization experiments in three Nordic countries. The only differences between sites in the model are climate, the ambient nitrogen deposition, nitrogen fertilization regimes, and the initial conditions at the start of the experiment. The model simulates the observed stand development well as long as nitrogen remains the limiting factor. The simulated retention of deposited nitrogen is in general low (less than 50%), whereas retention of fertilizer nitrogen is higher. This seems to imply that the higher production in the fertilized stands will not be maintained once the fertilization is stopped. The model results also indicate that the major effect of climate on site productivity is through soil processes, not tree physiology. 相似文献

2000年8~10月自大兴安岭新林林业局和兴隆林业局采集各种林型下的伞菌担子果,进行分离培养、纯化,获得36个菌株。经对红皮云杉室内接种试验获得6个可与红皮云杉共生形成外生菌根的菌株。室内接种试验结果表明,在红皮云杉播种苗上接种菌根菌的时期应在出苗后30d左右。菌根形成的适宜温度为20℃左右。筛选得到的6个菌株对红皮云杉幼苗的生长有明显的促进作用。接种林地菇(Agaricus silvaticus)、031和L15菌株的苗木叶绿素a含量明显高于其他菌株和对照;接种009、004、林地菇和L15菌株的苗木叶绿素b含量也明显高于其他菌株和对照;接种林地菇、L15、031、009和025菌株的苗木与对照苗木在重量上差异显著;其中接种林地菇和L15菌株的苗木比对照苗木分别增加了19.23%和23.08%;接种6个菌株的苗木与对照苗木高度比较差异非常显著,接种林地菇和L15菌株的苗木与对照相比分别增加17.83%和16.37%。室外接种结果表明,接种林地菇的苗木高生长最好,接种70d高于对照9.24%;接种菌株L15的苗木地径生长最好,接种70d高于对照9.92%;接种菌株009的苗木侧根数最多,接种70d高于对照51.91%;接种菌株009的苗木主根最长,接种70d高于对照3.36%;而接种菌株031的苗木全株感染菌根率最高,接种70d高于对照13.90%;接种菌株031的苗木光合作用最强,高于对照20.02%。从几项主要的指标综合来看,菌株L15、菌株009和菌株031是有潜在研究和应用价值的优良菌株。 相似文献

In the absence of fire in black spruce-feathermoss stands, a thick forest floor layer dominated by bryophytes and sphagnum
accumulates. This layer is associated with wet, cool and nutrient-poor soil conditions conducive to the paludification process
and pushing the ecosystem towards an unproductive open black spruce forest. The presence of Populus tremuloides in theses stands may halt this process because this species has a high nutrient cycling rate and a litter that represses
moss cover. The main hypothesis of this study is that, despite similar abiotic conditions (slope and drainage), the presence
of Populus tremuloides in a stand dominated by Picea mariana affects surface soil nutrient availability, total N, pH as well as the decomposition process. The abundance of Populus tremuloides trees was associated with higher exchangeable cations, cationic exchangeable capacity and pH of the forest floor layer on
all sites. A decrease in organic matter thickness with increasing aspen presence was also found on all sites, suggesting that
this species affects the decomposition process by the quality of its litter as well as by a general improvement of soil physical
and chemical properties. The decomposition rate of a standard substrate as well as in vitro potential net nitrogen mineralization were positively related to Populus tremuloides on only one of the three sites, and non-significant on the other sites. Strong immobilization of added nitrogen during incubation
was observed on all sites and was not related to aspen, which suggested that in these stands, the soil microbial community
is uniformly and strongly nitrogen limited. The zone of influence of Populus tremuloides was evaluated in areas around the soil sampling plot ranging from 3 to 7 m. The results revealed that this zone varies with
soil properties. The results suggest that the presence of Populus tremuloides accelerate nutrient cycling, which could affect stand productivity to some extent. 相似文献

Considerable knowledge exists about the effect of aluminium (Al) on root vitality, but whether elevated levels of Al affect
soil microorganisms is largely unknown. We thus compared soils from Al-treated and control plots of a field experiment with
respect to microbial and chemical parameters, as well as root growth and vitality. The field experiment was established in
a 50-year-old Norway spruce (Picea abies L.) stand where no Al or low concentrations of Al had been added every 7–10 days during the growth season for 7 years. Analysis
of soil solutions collected using zero tension lysimeters and porous suction cups showed that Al treatment lead to increased
concentrations of Al, Ca and Mg and lower pH and [Ca + Mg + K/Al] molar ratio. Corresponding soil analyses showed that soil
pH remained unaffected (pH 3.8), that exchangeable Al increased, while exchangeable Ca and Mg decreased due to the Al treatment.
Root in-growth into cores placed in the upper 20 cm of the soil during three growth seasons was not affected by Al additions,
neither was nutrient concentration or mortality of these roots. The biomass of some taxonomic groups of soil microorganisms,
analyzed using specific membrane components (phospholipid fatty acids; PLFAs), was clearly affected by the imposed Al treatment,
both in the organic soil horizon and in the underlying mineral soil. Microbial community structure in both horizons was also
clearly modified by the Al treatment. Shifts in PLFA trans/cis ratios indicative of short term physiological stress were not observed. Yet, aluminium stress was indicated both by changes
in community structure and in ratios of single PLFAs for treated/untreated plots. Thus, soil microorganisms were more sensitive
indicators of subtle chemical changes in soil than chemical composition and vitality of roots. 相似文献

Dieback of the terminal shoot and consequently bushy growth induced by boron deficiency have been reported widely throughout the world in several tree species. Recently, similar growth damage was documented in half of the young spruce stands in eastern Finland. To clarify the role of B deficiency, the light microscopic structure of emerging buds and of developing and previous-year needles of mature Norway spruce (Picea abies L. Karst.) from damaged (D stand), partly damaged (PD stand) and healthy (H stand) stands were analysed. The samples, on which needle nutrient concentrations were also determined, were taken seven times between early spring (April) and early winter (November). Cell death characterized by precipitation of the cell content, possibly due to the release of tannins after membrane rupture, was seen in the apex of emerging buds, and this led to fatal damage in about half of the buds in the trees from the D stand, where the needle B concentration was well below the deficiency level of 4–5 mg kg−1. Furthermore, an increase in living cells that accumulated tannins in the vacuoles, which is a common stress and/or defense reaction, was found in the primordial shoots of buds and in the differentiating needles in the PD and D stands. The increase in the areas of the central cylinder and of the xylem found in the needles indicate structural plasticity during needle differentiation to drought. The time frame for bud emergence from late May up to mid-September means that an adequate B supply is necessary throughout the summer in order to avoid fatal bud damage and thus bushy growth of the trees. 相似文献

The pollen frequency of Alnus correlated negatively at the 10% level with the daily mean temperature and at the 5% level with the temperatures of the previous day, and of the same week in 1975; and with the same levels of chance with humidity in 1974. The pollen frequency of Betula correlated positively with the mean temperature both of the same and previous day. Because of the rainy year 1974, birch pollen amount correlated very significantly negatively with humidity. The correlations showed the same tendencies in the other two years. The Pinus pollen frequency correlated positively with the mean daily temperature either at the 0.1% or 1% level, and in the same way with the mean temperature of the previous day. The correlation ofPinus to humidity was negative. Pine pollen showed fairly significant negative correlation with the snow cover thickness in 1974 and 1976. In 1975, there was less snow in S. 树轮数据是晚全新世古气候研究中最重要的代用指标。树轮参数各具优缺点, 蓝光强度(BI)是一种获取成本低廉的最大晚材密度(MXD)的光学替代参数, 其蓝色光反射率或强度最小值(256-BI)与相应的MXD值高度相关, 被很多的学者认为是树轮气候学研究中一个具有重要潜能的新兴参数。该研究以吉林老白山3个海拔(900、1 200和1 500 m)的鱼鳞云杉(Picea jezoensis)为例, 分析鱼鳞云杉的BI及轮宽指数(RWI)与气候因子的响应差异, 以期为BI参数在树轮气候学的进一步应用提供参考。结果表明: 不同海拔鱼鳞云杉BI或RWI对气候的响应趋势基本一致。BI与温度主要呈正相关关系, 而RWI与温度主要呈负相关关系, 其中BI与当年夏季及生长季最高温度显著正相关, 而RWI (低、中海拔)与全年平均气温、当年生长季和全年最低温度显著负相关。BI与当年夏季标准化降水蒸散指数(SPEI)显著负相关, RWI与夏季SPEI负相关关系较弱或为正相关; BI和RWI几乎相反的生长-气候关系可能是早、晚材权衡关系的体现。研究区域鱼鳞云杉的BI参数可能与年轮宽度记录不同的气候信号, 在空间尺度上对于当年夏季降水、最高温度以及SPEI的响应好于传统宽度指标。BI与主要气候因子相关关系的时间稳定性好于RWI, 因此, BI在树轮气候学的研究中具有一定的应用潜能。 相似文献

Dissolved organic carbon and nitrogen (DOC and DON) produced in the forest floor are important for ecosystem functions such
as microbial metabolism, pedogenesis and pollutant transport. Past work has shown that both DOC and DON production are related
to litterfall and standing stocks of C and N in the forest floor. This study, conducted in spring, 2003, investigated variation
in forest floor water extractable DOC (WEDOC) and DON (WEDON) and forest floor C and N as a function of lignin, cellulose
and N contained in live canopy foliage across eight Picea abies [L.] Karst stands in northern Bohemia. Based on Near Infrared Spectroscopy (NIR) analysis of foliar materials, lignin:N and
cellulose:N content of the youngest needles (those produced in 2002) were positively and significantly related to WEDOC (R2 = 0.82–0.97; P<0.01) and to forest floor C:N ratio (R = 0.72–0.78; P<0.01). Foliar N was strongly and negatively related to WEDOC and C:N ratio (R = −0.91 and 0.72; P<0.05) among our study sites. WEDON was positively correlated to foliar lignin:N (R = 0.48; P<0.05; n=40). Forest floor C pools were not positively correlated with foliar lignin and cellulose and forest floor N pools were not
positively correlated with foliar N. Instead, a significant negative correlation was found between forest floor N pools and
foliar cellulose (R=−0.41; P<0.05), and between forest floor C pools and foliar N (R = −0.44; P<0.05). From a remote sensing standpoint, our results are important because canopy reflectance properties are primarily influenced
by the most recent foliage, and it was the chemistry of the most recently produced needles that showed a stronger relationship
with forest floor WEDOC and C:N ratio suggesting forest floor production of WEDOC can be calculated regionally with remote
